Ryan and I climbing on Saturday!
Dear Bridget, Ryan, and Hannah, Thanks for the rock climbing adventure last Saturday. It was so fun spending 5 hours up in the canyon with you using ASL to communicate.

Dear Susan, Thanks for letting our huge family bombard your house yesterday for a celebrate graduation BBQ. It was good to see familiar faces.

Dear Kristin, Thanks for being concerned about me and for making sure that I was okay yesterday. I really need to start getting more sleep!

Dear Anna, Practicing ASL with you is the bestest ever! You're pretty cool.

Dear Jordan Liau, Thanks for letting us move Tuesday's movie night to your place when our TV stopped working. You're awesome.

Dear Amelia, Thanks for being so dependable. You are always there and you always get it.

Dear Rachel, Thanks for always being so considerate, fun, and uplifting. Thanks also for being excited about BBC's Robin Hood TV show like I am.

Dear Ryan, You are one of the best friends I have ever had. Please keep being yourself.

Dear Sarah Porter, I'm so excited to go see BYU's production of Arabian Nights tonight so that I can hear the music you composed for it! You are AWESOME, girl!

Dear Me, Thanks for going to bed at 11 last night. I feel human again.

Dear Heavenly Father, You always lead me to the scripture or conference talk I need to read. You always send friends in to lift me up. You always give me the break when I need it. You always believe in me. You always take care of me. I will.try, in return, to always follow you.

Letters

Dear Amelia, Lauren, and Rachel, Hiking to Stewart Falls with you on Saturday morning was the best possible start to my day. Thanks for flying with me, being super secret agents when we were sneaking around moose, running underneath the waterfall (Lauren), singing hymns, and for just being all around crazy and wonderful and yourselves.

Dear Jarrett, Our bike ride on Saturday night was beautiful. The trail that we took to get to Utah Lake (the Provo River Trail?) reminded me of being back home. Ice cream and talking at the Clyde field afterwards was also wonderful. As Dr. Seuss wrote: "I meant what I said and I said what I meant." Have a wonderful Monday!

Dear Laptop, Thanks for crashing. Right before I could print my talk. You are really good at timing.

Dear Week, Get ready to get lots done!

Dear Heavenly Father, Thanks for making me who I am and for giving me all that I have. I love you.

Letters

Dear Amelia, Not many things are better than getting a full nights sleep. Staying up 'till 2:30 am making cupcakes and cleaning the kitchen with you, however, is one of them. You're an awesome friend.

Dear Rachel, Thanks for all your optimism and support. You're determination to always do what is right, even when it's hard, is inspiring.

Dear Elise, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I'm so excited to spend the day partying with you!

Dear Me, You have not been as diligent in being awesome and keeping your goals this week as you should have been. Let's change that today, okay?

Dear Jarrett, I like this deal we have going today (the one where I promise to be super awesome only if you promise to be super awesome too). You are constantly uplifting and supporting and inspiring me to be a better person, to serve others, and to remember the Lord. Conclusion: you're a pretty amazing guy.

Dear Katt, Leslie, and Sarah, Thank you more than I can say for being an amazing presidency. I wish the girls could see how diligently you work for them and how much you love them, especially at this time when things in your own lives aren't going perfect. I'm so blessed that the Lord lets me work with you.

The group at the end of our rock climbing adventure
Dear Jarrett and Friends, Rock climbing on Friday night was super much fun. I'm so glad I got to meet so many new, AWESOME people and spend time with AWESOME people that I already knew!

Dear Relief Society Sisters, You are such AMAZINGLY FANTASTIC girls! I loved, loved, loved, loved, loved eating and talking and driving and playing and laughing and joking and being with you at the Relief Society Social on Saturday. Thank you for being so spiritually strong and uplifting. Being around you girls makes me happy.

Dear Richard, You better be ready to report on how awesome your Monday went later tonight!

Dear Morgan, I'm glad you found your can opener.

Dear Campus Plaza Roommates (past and present), Goofing off with you guys is better than any book, workout, or bowl of ice cream. Having you in my life is proof that Heavenly Father loves me.

Dear Ryan, If I could have a best man at my wedding, you'd be it. Goes to show that you don't need the blood to be family.

Can you believe I'm going to be lucky enough to be living with this AMAZING bread maker all summer?!! She's pretty much the COOLEST kid EVER!!!
Dear Amelia, I hope you're the one who makes the food in the Celestial Kingdom. No joke. This bread and bread pudding just gave me a taste of what it's going to be like, and I'm super excited.

Dear Jarrett, Thanks for reading Oh the Place You Will Go with me today on the floor in the children's section of the bookstore during lunch . I'm excited to go rock climbing with you tonight! We're gonna ROCK it (pun very much intended!)

Dear Whitney, I can't believe you're leaving us soon! And you're running off to become A MARRIED WOMEN!!!  AHHHHH!!! We're all SO excited for you and Joe! Let's make these last days with you as a single lady count!

Dear Jason Frizzell, You always stop to say hi when I see you at the path south of campus. You're such a good, nice person and I'm glad that you're hanging out with us this spring/summer here at CP. That way, we can continue to have awesome conversations about mother ducks and how much we love the prophets and other awesome, random, amazing stuff.

Dear Jared McBride and Eric Johnson, Thanks for stopping to talk last night. You two are stellar! (And good job remembering the ASL I taught you, Jared!)

Who's on the Lord's Side? Who?

“Brethren, shall we not go on in so great a cause? Go forward and not backward. Courage, brethren; and on, on to the victory! Let your hearts rejoice, and be exceedingly glad.”   -D&C 128:22

“Guided by the Holy Spirit, we will learn from our mistakes. If we stumble, we will rise. If we falter, we will go on. We will never waver; we will never give up. As a mighty brotherhood of the everlasting priesthood of God, we will stand together, shoulder to shoulder, focused on the principles of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and gratefully serving our God and fellowman with dedication and love.”   -President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, The Why of Priesthood Service, April 2012 General Conference

Now is the time to step up, unite together, and to be stronger and more determined than we ever have been before. Satan is not going to win. He may win at first. He may win today and tomorrow and many, many days after that; but I promise that he will not win in the end! He cannot win. We already know the outcome of the battle. It is not a question of who will win. God will win. It is instead a question of which side we will chose to fight for.

I chose to fight on God’s side. I want to throw in every last bit of energy I have proving myself and bringing forth good and helping lift up others and advancing the work of God. I want to be strong. I want to be steadfast and immovable. I want to be a solider for the Lord

I know that this church is the true church. I know that Joseph Smith saw God and Jesus Christ. I know that he restored the true church upon the earth. I know that he was a prophet. I know that the Book of Mormon is a true book because when I read it I feel closer to God and I receive inspiration and revelation for my life. I know that God’s priesthood power is once again upon the earth and that this power makes it possible for us to be sealed together as families in the Lord’s temples. I know that Jesus Christ lives. I know that He atoned for our sins, that He died and was resurrected for us, and that He lives and helps each of us daily today. I know that God lives. I know that He is our Father. I know that He knows each and every single one of us more perfectly than we know ourselves. I know that He desires us to succeed and to do well in this life so that we can return to Him. I know that He loves us with an immeasurable amount of love.

I want no one to doubt whose side I’m fighting on. I am for the Lord. He will uplift, and help, and strengthen us all as we dedicate ourselves to fighting more earnestly to serve one another and to become better brothers and sisters in the gospel.
